Every painting that a skilled botanical artist creates results in a visual definition of the plant, just like the parrot tulip on this Tulip 1/2 Pint Mug. Each unfurling feather-edged petal on the tulip is a masterstroke, true to the meticulous line work involved in botanical illustration.
Emma Bridgewater wanted to create a small collection of mugs in a Vegetable Garden range that celebrates this very traditional method of illustration. This black and white mug, together with the other illustrated mugs depicting a pineapple and an artichoke, make a thoughtful present for any tea or coffee drinker or budding botanist/botanical artist.
